Google Tests Query Modifier in Desktop Web SERPs

https://www.seroundtable.com

I have seen query modifiers in Google Image Search and in local packs and for some features like dictionary snippet, this is the first time I have seen them on a desktop for general queries.

I have a feeling this might be rolling out to more queries in the future. When you click on those modifiers Google adds the term to the query and shows you a new set of results. If they start to paper for queries you care about I would say it’s time to update your content to answer those new queries (if you are not already doing them from the auto-suggest)

Sample Query: Try searching for how much do you need to retire on Mobile or Desktop. I was NOT able to trigger the result from Australia but they worked from USA.
