Filling, Then Abandoning, E-Commerce Shopping Carts Is a Thing Now

Abandoned shopping carts are nothing new, but the pastime appears to have picked up in the last year as a replacement for real-life window-shopping. During the pandemic, some people have developed a new way to kill time online: Going to e-commerce sites, filling their shopping carts, then logging off without paying.

I have done this but mostly just to see if I can get a discount code for the item in a few days because some e-commerce stores have automation that sends out a discount code when things are in the cart and purchase is not completed.
