Google May Have to Negotiate Payment for US News Publishers

The bipartisan bill is led by Senator Amy Klobuchar and Representative David Cicilline, both Democrats. It’s sponsored by Senator John Kennedy and Representative Ken Buck, both Republicans.
If passed, the bill will introduce legislation that will make it easier for news publishers to enter collective negotiations with companies like Google and Facebook.
The bill is aimed at helping news publishers as a whole, rather than a small number of large publishers. If a deal is struck with one news organizations it will apply to all news organizations.
In other words, the legislation has the potential to boost all publisher revenues.
