Setup Google Alert for New Pages on Your Domain

If your website has been hacked in the past this is a great tip for you to get on top of things fairly quickly if it happens again. Lot of the time these Black Hat SEOs set up new pages and backlinks to their websites and when your visitors access the pages from the SERPs a totally different website will be displayed.

One tip I have for this is to set up Google Alert for the words

site:domain.com

This way you will be notified when any new pages are indexed by Google. If that page looks suspicious, you can remove it ASAP.

This is also a great way to spy on your competitors you can set alerts for their domains or even set up alerts for the management team members or industry topics.

How to Setup Google Alert for Your Website?

  • Go to Google Alerts
  • In the text field type in “site:yourwebsite.com” eg: to create an alert for tldrmarketing.com I would type in site:tldrmarketing.com
  • If options are hidden, click on show options
  • I recommend picking “As-it-happens” for How often
  • change the other options if you need to
  • Click on Create Alert
