Youtube Shorts Is Taking Watch Time From Long-form Videos and Contributing To A Dip In Ad Revenue

Content posted to YouTube’s TikTok challenger, Shorts, now collectively brings more than 30 billion views per day.

And that’s a problem.

During Alphabet’s latest quarterly earnings call, CFO Ruth Porat said YouTube is seeing a “slight headwind to revenue growth as Shorts viewership grows as a percentage of total YouTube time.”
