Meta Looks to Prep Businesses for the Metaverse
https://www.adweek.comMeta pointed out that despite advances such as those that it previewed during its Connect 2021 event in October, the primary way that people will experience the metaverse in its early stages is through 2D applications.
The company highlighted commerce and entertainment as early metaverse opportunities, saying that the combination of the metaverse and the rise of digital commerce will likely lead to developments such as Instagram Shops becoming more immersive and offering physical and digital products, or being able to host mixed reality experiences where people can join in-person or buy tickets to the virtual component.
Meta said the physical world and the metaverse will also become more intertwined through expanding on already existing technology on this front, including businesses using augmented reality to enable people to see how furniture would look in their home or virtually try on makeup or glasses.
