You Can Now Report Google User Profiles for Abuse on Google Maps App

Google is launching a new feature that will allow you to report Google user profiles for abuse on both Android and iOS App. Previously, you were able to flag certain contributions individually, but you can now report the users themselves in an effort to stop those who regularly contribute abusive content.

This new functionality will enable you to let the Google Maps team know when someone is contributing false information, uploading offensive content, or taking other abusive actions that violate Google Maps user contributed content policy.

Steps to report spammy Google user profiles on Android or iOS Apps. (I did NOT see the option on the mobile website but worked from my iPhone)

  • Click on the user name in the list of Reviews/Photos they contributed or the Question/Answer they posted to get to their profile page.
  • Click on the three dot icon.
  • Choose ‘Report’ on iOS or ‘Report profile’ on Android.
