Seeing a Drop in Ahrefs Organic Traffic, It’s a Bug and Should Be Fixed in a Few Days

Recently, ahrefs updated how keyword volume is calculated in Ahrefs, from a 30-month average to a 12-month average. A side effect of this update is the sudden drop in traffic graphs for many websites, e.g. Coinbase. This is because the keywords they rank for are not as popular as they were a year ago. They say that for websites in more “evergreen” industries, the change should be barely noticeable. To address the change in traffic graphs, they are planning on rolling out an update that will re-calculate data going backwards.
