LinkedIn Was Temporarily Removed From Google’s Index

https://www.seroundtable.com

Apparently LinkedIn was temporarily removed from Google’s index. Google had the other regions indexed, i.e. uk.linkedin.com, ca.linkedin.com and so forth. But not the main US www.linkedin.com. We are not sure if this is a Google indexing issue or an issue with how LinkedIn configured something on its end.

Some say that Linkedin blocked all crawlers via robots.txt and there was a PSA from John Mueller which mentioned that removing the “https://” version of your site using Search Console Removals Tool will remove all variations (http/https/www/non-www).  Either way, it appears the issue is now resolved.

Remember folks if this happened to a site that is not as well know as LinkedIn this would have existed as a thread in Google’s support forum with one of two comments and at least a few weeks or months for the site to be recrawled BUT those rules don’t apply to behemoths.
