Google’s Lighthouse Is Now Recommending JavaScript Library Alternates
https://searchengineland.comLighthouse is now recommending smaller js-libraries that improve bundle size. Google relies on a third-party reference (BundlePhobia) for collecting alternate library lists. They further vet choices based on a “high bar for equivalency” and “ease of migration” as determined by the Lighthouse team.
Recommendations are good but I wouldn’t blindly follow that recommendation for now as there could be multiple functionalities that are getting used from a larger library that might be missing from the alternatives.
