Google Search Console Hidden URLs Reveal Insight into Upcoming Features

JR Oakes did a deep dive into Search Console and shared some insight into some of the new things that might be coming up. Some of the cool stuff include:

European Press Publication Status: It would appear this setting allows Google systems to view the domain as a European press publication, as designed by EU Directive 2019/790 on copyright and related rights in the digital single market. With this classification, it looks like you will have to add explicit snippet meta tags to show text snippets, video previews, and thumbnail images in SERP and if you don’t your domain will NOT show any snippet in SERPs.

Google Assistant for Chrome: This setting enables Google Assistant to perform multistep actions in Chrome like buying tickets, etc powered by Duplex on the Web.

3D Models: I imagine this is for that AR stuff that you can surface in the SERPs like this result from Target for the query(only on Mobile..got it on Android, did not work on iPhone) k cup pod coffee maker. Ecommerce sites would love this, imagine looking to buy a new chair and pulling up that chair and using AR to view it in your room using the camera on your phone.
