Did Google Remove Events Listing from Google Maps?

It looks like the events section on Google Maps business listings appears to have been removed. Events still show up in the search results on the Knowledge Panel but no longer appear in Google Maps – mobile, desktop or via the apps. I tried this and it seems to be the case in Melbourne as well. Not sure if it’s a bug or if it’s gone for good.
