Image Search on mobile devices now includes relevant badges on the thumbnails for the following recipes, videos, products, animated images (GIFs) when the content is marked up accordingly. (no markup needed for GIFs).
The Rich Cards report in Search Console can also provide stats on organic clicks and impressions from these.
Edit Bing Featured Snippets With Bing Distill
If you click on “improve this answer” you are taken to a screen where you can edit the result in more detail. It walks you through the process of updating the answer.
Google Tests GMB Editing in SERP
If the business or a manager is logged in and executes a brand search they will be presented with this large call to action that now includes things not done. It’s a great way for Google to get 1st party data about a business right from the owners/managers. 
So when someone asked about using the HTML5 details tag for expanding content, John Mueller said it was treated the same as other methods of doing the same thing.
This new update focuses on conspiracy theory web sites and non-English results.
The structured data documentation for Bing has been amended to include support for ClaimReview, which can be used by publishers to provide fact checking data.
Bing is testing a new feature in their local pack… adding a “Deal” tag directly into the local pack results when there is a coupon code Bing has sourced for the store.
Google starts showing suggested places with an image collage, only seen for restaurants/cafe related query. Clicking on them launches Google maps view.

With 200M daily users, Giphy will soon test sponsored GIFs
Giphy, the four-year-old search engine for GIFs, is going to finally start testing monetization.  According to a source close to the company, Giphy will begin testing sponsored GIFs within messaging experiences. This means that users who search for GIFs may be served a sponsored GIF within the messaging tab. 
Normally, Google places the ads tag in the same line as the review stars. But when a listing has no review stars, it drops the ads tag even further in the listing, inexplicably adding it to the address line instead, which is the third line in the listing.
Google has started testing a different variation of mobile product card units, which is the Google Shopping format of a knowledge panel. The enw format appears in a swipeable carousel that resembles the mobile price extension format, it also offers filtering options.
Mobile sitelinks will be shown by using both horizontal buttons and larger vertical links. Sitelinks are also becoming tappable on mobile, allowing users to scroll further and click through to deeper parts of a site.
Callouts and structured snippets appeared on a separate line below your ad. Now, they’ll appear in-line with your ad copy in paragraph form.
Social Media
In a US-only test, Facebook will slot some brands’ dynamic product ads among people’s item listings in Marketplace. These ads will look similar to Marketplace’s square-shaped organic listings. They will feature the image of a single product pulled from the product catalogs that participating advertisers have uploaded to Facebook and will carry the advertiser’s name and a “Sponsored” label.
Facebook Stories is now rolling out to Facebook’s desktop site. Here, the Stories feature is no longer at the top of the page, but is instead off to the right side.Stories consist of photos and video that are visible for 24 hours before they disappear.
Facebook Stories unlocks public sharing
Facebook could jumpstart its Snapchat clone by letting social media stars and public figures post Stories publicly. When Facebook Stories launched globally in March, you could only share to all your friends or a subset of them. Now if you allow public followers, you can post your Story publicly so anyone can watch.
Brands can tweet as they normally would, and the social network will automatically promote some of those tweets, but brands cannot customize which tweets are promoted. They’ll receive biweekly reports on follower and engagement growth. First 30 days is Free then it’s $99/month. 
Facebook announced upcoming changes to the news feed algorithm that will give a higher ranking to links that are expected to load quickly on mobile. This is expected to rollout globally in the coming months.
Facebook also published a guide on best practices for webmasters.
Facebook will let brands target ads to people who RSVPed to their Pages’ events
Advertisers will be able to create Custom Audiences of people who responded to an individual event created by a brand’s Facebook Page or all events. Brands can specify whether they want to include only people who RSVPed as “going” to an event or only those who responded as “interested” in going, or both.
