tl;dr Marketing #24: Page Speed will be a Ranking Factor with Mobile First Index
Hi folks,
This week we have confirmation from Google that page speed will be a ranking factor when mobile first index rolls out. They also released a new Rich snippet in the SERP, this time for Podcasts.

This feature does not rely on, but instead leverages RSS feeds. supports podcasts that are distributed either Google Play,  iTunes or those  published only on individual websites.

Dynamic Search Ads (DSA) will transition to expanded text ads through April, bringing them in line with search and display campaigns.
They are also introducing page feeds, a spreadsheet of URLs for the most focused targeting. It has  2 fields: Page URL and Custom Label. The feeds enable advertisers to designate exactly which landing pages to include in a DSA campaign.
Google also says it has continued to make quality updates for DSAs, such as taking location signals into account, and that the latest changes have led to better conversion rates and lower CPAs, on average.

Facebook now offers “better ways to visually inspire mobile shoppers” with its newest product-focused ad format, collection. With collection ads, brands can feature a primary video or image above relevant product images that, once clicked, lead to “an immersive, fast-loading shopping experience… that can showcase up to 50 products at a time” within Facebook.
Today’s tip is on how to get concepts and ideas when you want to write content about a topic. We will use AlchemyLanguage, it is a collection of APIs that offer text analysis through natural language processing. This will help you analyse paragraphs of text (or content from a URL) and break it down into concepts, entities, keywords, sentiment, and more.
Once you have a topic in mind grab the top 5 results from Google, the Wikipedia page about the topic, etc and feed it through this web app. Now you get to see the various concepts and keywords for all those top ranking pages. Now create your content around that and you have content that is very relevant to the topic you want to rank for.
