Possible Workaround for WordPress Does Not Use Passive Listeners Issues in Speed Test

https://dtlytics.com

If you try to run a page speed test with Google, for a WordPress site you might have come across the Does not use passive listeners to improve scrolling performance warning. This comes from the core script in WordPress (js/comment-reply.min.js) generating “non-passive” listener.

If your pages do not show comments then this will probably not come up but if it does then you will probably get this warning. If you want to get rid of it and don’t want to allow nested comments, you could simply remove this script from loading.

The fix suggested by these folks is to avoid loading the problematic script by default, and then setting a listener to load it in case it is actually required.
