Build a Newsletter on Medium but You Don’t Have Access to the Email List
https://blog.medium.comMedium announced they are launching a new service called Newsletters(likely replacing the Letters). Any Publication on Medium can start a newsletter and correspond with their subscribers directly in their inbox.
For existing Publications, the email audience you’ve already built with Letters will continue on with you when you start your Newsletter. Publications can now share a link to the Newsletter sign-up page anywhere to promote and grow new subscribers more easily. Readers can subscribe to your Newsletter from your posts with a single click.
What I want to know is can we export the list if we decide to move out of Medium? Email is an owned channel and with something like this, you are putting more control into the platform’s hands, not something I am looking fwd to. Here is their help documentation and here is what they have to say about user’s email. You DON’T get it.
