Let’s Encrypt discovers CAA bug, Impacts 2.6% of Issued Certificates

Let’s Encrypt recently announced that due to the 2020.02.29 CAA Rechecking Bug 5.0k, they need to revoke many Let’s Encrypt TLS/SSL certificates.

Key points:

  • 2.6% of certificates are affected that is roughly 3,048,289 currently-valid certificates that are impacted by this.
  • Pop your domain into this to see if your websites TLS/SSL certificates are impacted by this
  • Revocations of certificates start on 04 March 2020 ( and expected to end by 2020-03-05 03:00 UTC )

They will be e-mailing affected subscribers, so keep an eye out on that. Check for “2020.02.29 CAA Rechecking Bug” and make sure it’s not in your spam folder.
