Google Podcasts Starts to Show Explore Episode Topics Functionality

With the new design and an iOS App Google Podcasts has been adding a bunch of cool features. There’s a new “Explore topics in this episode” section at the bottom of an episode’s detailed overview. Tap the one you’re interested in, and you’ll find a Google Search for the term in a custom Chrome tab.

It’s likely powered by Google’s Knowledge Graph and machine learning capabilities. It’s interesting to see this coming to other verticals in Google and not just search. They are able to pick up entities from podcasts and surface it in the app and eventually they will be using it to create more engaging experiences within the app.
