Cloudflare Brings Support for AVIF Image Format
https://blog.cloudflare.comAVIF is the image format of choice used by Netflix, it compresses images significantly better than older-generation formats such as WebP and JPEG. It’s supported in Chrome, and support is coming to other Chromium-based browsers and Firefox but it’s still quite limited.
If you want to give this format a try you are in luck, Cloudflare is bringing support for this format to their dynamic image compression service Polish. I would suggest holding it off for now if SEO is your main concern as AVIF is not a supported format and you will need to prove a fall ack in one of the supported format for image SEO.
