Cloudflare Announces Free Web Analytics Service

https://www.cloudflare.com

They are marketing ti as a Privacy-first, lightweight, web analytics platform and it’s available for free. They don’t use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics. They also claim not to fingerprint individuals via their IP address, User Agent string, or any other data for the purpose of displaying analytics.

There is a free version you can use by installing a bit of Javascript code on your website or you can use the paid version that collects data from the network edge and this uses server logs to populate analytics (so, in theory, will bypass client-side ad blockers).

Being new there is not a lot of information on things like if they support conversion tracking, goals, etc. Also, we don’t know if there is a cap on how long the data is stored for. But either way, a good alternative to Google analytics is always welcome.
