Chrome Browser Now Tracks If You’re Idle, Here Is How To Disable It

https://www.reddit.com

This is a setting that is enabled by default with the latest release (Chrome version 94). From What I can see the user will have to enable it for a site before they can track them. The concern here is that knowing you’re not looking at a particular screen is a signal that sites can use on you, for good (pausing a video when you’re not watching), or bad (your job using it to track your activity).

If you use Chrome or Brave, here’s how to disable it:

chrome://settings/content/idleDetection

Look for “Don’t allow sites to know when you’re actively using your device”
