Amazon Sellers Use Your Info, Send Packages You Didn’t Order to Boost Ratings

https://www.click2houston.com

Scammers want a positive review for their product from real users. They want it so bad they send out products to users who did not order those items. Say hello to the scam called brushing.

They somehow obtain your name, your address to get those items sent to you. Then they actually take your name and use that to create fake positive reviews in your name, on sites like Amazon. It is just a way to fool people, other potential buyers of their merchandise into thinking that this item is more popular and well-liked than it actually is.

For some e-commerce platforms, a shipment usually has to take place for an order to be considered valid that is is the reason why these items are shipped out to users. Often, the items received are lightweight and inexpensive to ship, such as ping pong balls, or even seeds.
