Reels invites you to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on Instagram. Record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. You can share reels with your followers on Feed, and, if you have a public account, make them available to the wider Instagram community through a new space in Explore. Reels in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Instagram and reach new audiences on a global stage.

Instagram Reels, is Facebook’s answer to challenge TikTok on short-form creative content. The feature is being made available across 50 countries including US, Australia, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the U.K, Japan, Spain, Mexico and many more.

In this video, John from Google states that if all signals point to negative sentiment for a brand and there is an overwhelming amount of negative reviews for the brand, then Google’s algorithms could pick up on that and it can impact your search visibility. He also goes ahead to say that it’s very unlikely that this will happen but it’s possible that it can.

I would imagine most brands would NOT have to worry about it but there is a potential this could be happening if there is an overwhelming amount of bad stuff online for the brand, just something to keep in the back of your mind.

More than 80 million Chrome users have installed one of 295 Chrome extensions that hijack and insert ads inside Google and Bing search results. The malicious extensions were discovered by AdGuard, a company that provides ad-blocking solutions, while the company’s staff was looking into a series of fake ad-blocking extensions that were available on the official Chrome Web Store.

All extensions loaded malicious code from the fly-analytics.com domain, and then proceeded to quietly inject ads inside Google and Bing search results.

Today, App campaigns accept more than 30 different sizes and dimensions for image assets. Starting later this year, they will begin shifting from size-based to ratio-based image specifications to make your creative process simpler and more efficient. You will only need to upload images in three aspect ratios to scale your ads across eligible App campaigns properties and formats:

As part of this update, they will increase the image file size limit from 150KB to 5MB so you can upload higher quality assets. This means App campaigns can turn your assets into ads that are visually engaging on screens of all sizes. They are also dropping .gif support keeping only .jpg and .png.

Beginning early next year, they will migrate all App campaigns to this set of requirements. At that time, you will no longer be able to add new images that do not fit these aspect ratios or file formats. Existing images that do not follow these standards will stop running and be automatically removed. However, your asset reporting history—including data for any removed images and GIFs—will not be affected.

I was aware of Apple’s Maps Connect but haven’t come across “Apple Business Register” which apparently is Apple’s answer to Google’s Google My Business (GMB). It allows agencies, brand managers, and business owners to control how a business appears within Apple’s ecosystem and appears to be an evolution of the simplified Maps Connect portal that was used previously for this task. Apple Business Register also allows business owners to delegate permission-based access to their business and brand’s existing information on Apple Maps.

Developers of chat applications and users of existing compatible chat applications will have a keen interest in “Business Chat Accounts (BCAs)” BCAs allow developers to add business chat buttons to a website, or to an app. Business chat buttons can also appear in Siri and Spotlight searches.
